New Age Scam versus Spiritual Integrity
When the question is asked, “Are you spiritual?” A vast range of answers come back in full spectrum.
But the truth is closer than our own breath.
The word “spirit” comes from Latin, Spiritus/Spirare meaning “to breathe”.
The word “inspire” is inspirare in Latin, meaning “to breathe into, breathe upon… the breath of LIFE…”
Yahweh – YHWH; Hebrew for the Divine name for God.
It is said that YHWH represents the sound of life, our own breath.
“It is a Tetragrammaton : Greek, neuter of tetragrammatos ‘having four letters’, from tetra- ‘four’ + gramma, grammat- ‘letter’.”
In Judaism the name YHWH is not read out loud but is replaced with Adonai (Lord). Christians have recorded it as Jehovah or Jahovah.
“I am the one I am”
“I am who I am”
~ I AM that I AM ~
There are a few people out there whose work comes from the heart ~ with a genuine desire to be of service to humanity.
There are far too many others over the last decade and through modern technology who are preying on the vulnerable just to make a buck and a name for themselves.
You are your own “life coach” and no one can “hold space” for you anywhere. The ancient teachings belong to everyone and solely to no one.
• If you have to pay for access to the teachings, it is false.
• If you have to pay to move up on the “ladder of spiritual success” it is false.
• If someone is more glorified than others, it is false.
• If the information has to come from a “chosen” or “ordained” one, it is false.
Watch for self appointed guru status/shaman/goddess etc… and the words “juicy” “spiritual workshops/bootcamps” and other tired and new age jargon.
It cannot be bought or taught, but it can be earned and learned. We are all fellow students at different places on the same path.
People can share their experiences and stories with you ~
However, you must KNOW that WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS NOT OUTSIDE OF YOURSELF ~
This warning would apply to many organised religions too.
You have access to the primary texts and teachings and this is not about memorisation, academia or intellect, but in the APPLICATION of these wisdoms in our everyday life. We are to become the teachings
1) inspiration (n.)
“c. 1300, “immediate influence of God or a god,” especially that under which the holy books were written, from Old French inspiracion “inhaling, breathing in; inspiration” (13c.), from Late Latin inspirationem (nominative inspiratio), noun of action from past participle stem of Latin inspirare “blow into, breathe upon,” figuratively “inspire, excite, inflame,” from in- “in” (see in- (2)) + spirare “to breathe” (see spirit (n.)).”
2) Inspire: Middle English enspire, from Old French inspirer, from Latin inspirare ‘breathe or blow into’ from in- ‘into’ + spirare ‘breathe’. The word was originally used of a divine or supernatural being, in the sense ‘impart a truth or idea to someone’.
